Echo Schools Award shortlist announced!

Gateacre School is thrilled to announce that we have been shortlisted for 4 awards at this year’s Liverpool Echo Schools Awards.

Head Teacher of the Year- Mr. Jason Roberts

For an outstanding school leader, whose guidance and leadership has helped create a dynamic learning environment, where the students are happy and encouraged to reach their full potential.

Support Staff of the Year- Mrs. Lynn Hughes (Science Technician)

Mrs. Hughes has become integral in supporting students from our primary schools in the workshops she has created and led. Lynn has worked with all years from reception to year 6. This has been a great help to the students who are transitioning into "big school" as it’s always great to see a face you already recognise!

Class of the Year

Our Business Studies class have been recognised for their incredible efforts particularly during the Christmas period, creating and delivering hampers to our local community as well as a literal bus full of items to the Whitechapel Centre. They have worked together to really stand out in every aspect of school life, whether it be through fundraising, campaigning, excellence or simply helping to make their school a better place.

School Communications Award

We at Gateacre recognise the importance of communication with the entire school community- students, parents and staff- as well as with the wider community and are delighted to have been shortlisted for this award. This award recognizes our use of social media, school website, newsletters and our Parent app MyEd.

The winners will be announced at an Awards Ceremony on 27th June at Liverpool John Moores University. Wish us luck!
