End of Term 3 Newsletter

Thank You!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank parents, carers and pupils for all their support since September.  You have made making this school better so much easier by supporting all the things we are trying to do, whether it be improving teaching and learning in lessons or improving standards of uniform or raising expectations with pupils being ready to learn.

Return to year groups

As you will be aware we have spent the last couple of weeks moving back to year groups for form time and lunches, we feel that this will help us get better faster at the things that need to have the biggest impact, namely pupil progress – doing better in lessons and getting good grades in exams and attendance to school.
I have stressed all year how important good attendance at school is, in this final newsletter of the year I want to remind you that I need your son/daughter for 190 days.  The remaining 175 days in the year are yours to do with as you please.

I would love for our school to have an attendance figure of over 95%, but I need your help in achieving that.  You’ve got to send them in every day, even when they say they have a headache, tummy ache or the sniffles.  Good attendance to school is such an important aspect not just for us but sets children up for their lives beyond school when they enter the work place.

A look back over a fantastic year

It is hard to believe we are at the end of the summer term, it does not feel like we have done three terms, had a HMI inspection, a DfE visit, a School Improvement Liverpool inspection and two Pupil Premium Reviews but we have.  All of those have identified the much improved practice that is happening in the building.
I also want to share with you some of the other things that your children have achieved or been part of on our journey to becoming a Good school.
