Photography

Photography is visual story-telling and at Gateacre, GCSE Photography aims to allow students to do just that. As well as learning core camera skills and techniques, students also develop their skills in Photoshop and image manipulation. In Year 10, we look at the very broad theme of ‘Covert & Obscure’ and students are exposed to a variety of artists and photographers that allows them to explore a range of skills. In Year 11, students’ work becomes even more personal by responding to the theme of ‘Portraits’. We encourage students to use digital media as well as mixed media to create pieces that might be inspired by a range of photographers, artists, designers and craftspeople which aims to give students a broad skill set within the artistic discipline of Photography.
