Pastoral

At Gateacre School, we believe that a nurturing and supportive environment is key to supporting students thrive both academically and personally. Our dedicated pastoral care system ensures that every student feels valued, listened to, and encouraged throughout their time with us.

We place great emphasis on the well-being and emotional development of our students, developing their resilience, confidence, and a strong sense of self.

Each year group is assigned a Head of Year and Assistant Head of Year who are responsible for monitoring the welfare and progress of their students. These colleagues move through the school with their year group from Year 7 through to Year 11. On a daily basis student academic support, pastoral care and guidance is provided by their Academic Tutors.

We greatly value parents'/carers' involvement in supporting their children, as we believe strong home-school collaboration plays a crucial role in our students' progress and achievements.

Our approach is holistic, aiming not only to address academic needs but also to foster a caring community where our students feel safe and empowered.
